From Lenswork 56

This is something to remember every single day.

Revelation Of Hunger II

Decayed Beauty III

Traditional figure studies and application of tones and textures continue to be an experimental and experiential part of my process. Audiences worldwide continue to comment and contact me about this process of seeing.

Lion Attack

The work of Boris and Frazetta as a teenager was a source of great inspiration. Now I am able to work in their respective genres thanks to new digital technologies.

Nude Study I

Weston and the entire Early California photo movement F64 had always resonated with me. My photo and my 3D work reflect that influence.

Stems II

More tribute work to Weston

Stems

The work of Edward Weston has always inspired me. Here is a small tribute to his artistry.

Emo Issue 2

Emo Issue 1

Vulture

I still have to work up a concept and name for the Vulture but I am assuming that he will fill the need of Mentor and confidant. There must be conflict for it to work so I am going to go for an adversarial relationship between the two.

Emo Girl & Friend

She's be joined by a vulture to whom she could confide all of her doubts and fears.

Emo Girl Comic

Am toying with doing a new comic on an Emo Girl who investigates her own death. Sort of a philosophical musing on the nature of life, what we do and why we do it.

Unicorn Triumphant

My college aged stepdaughter asked me to do a picture of a Unicorn. This is the result. I don't think they are as nice as everyone says.

Abducted 3

Dragon series WIP.

Postcard Nouveau 10

From the series I created while on location in Newfoundland.

Postcard Nouveau

I enjoy Victorian esoterica and use it as wel in my work.

Ambushed

A synthesis of black and white and illustrative technologies.

Free Downloadable E-Portfolio

Fans of my work can get a free 25 page portfolio of work suitable for printing at http://issuu.com/jgesq/docs/damned. This is a cross section of the work available here. My limited edition archival prints may be purchased at www.juliangrant.com.and are much higher quality.

Hellcats

Pirates - Booty and treasure and wenches and all the fun! I want to do a Pirate book on female buccaneers and their hi-jinx. I wrote a script ten years ago or more about this and now get a chance to do it.

Silence II

Painting digitally allows me the freedom I never had with canvas. The ability to experiment and correct my mistakes.

Rain Of Fury

More Conan inspired work.

Rescue

Robert E. Howard's Conan has always resonated with me. The 1970's great paperback editions with Frazetta covers were my first introductions. This is my homage.

Dragon Slayer

Using new digital painting technology, I am now creating original painted works. Fantasy, of course, dominates.

Chateau

Landscape generation and architectural detailing set the mood. This is the chateau the Cirque De Mal comes to play in.

Belly

I dig photorealism but it's not everything to me. I can make reallooking digital work - it's a challenge.

The Girl In Shorts

One of my Crew Mamas from Cirque De Mal
